Rich User Experience: InVision
by Unknown
Have you ever gotten that feeling when you
discover something new that makes your life so much easier? This is what it’s
like to discover InVision.
An Introduction to InVision
As a graphics and web designer, this tool
is a gold mine. InVision is a free, highly interactive prototyping tool created
for designers, by designers. It gives design teams the freedom to design,
review and user test products without using code. (Awwards, 2014) The tool transforms
designs into high-fidelity prototypes for web and mobile and is integrated with
Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator where you can upload directly from
these programs. InVision has all the tools in one place for prototyping, task
management and the entire design process.
Efficiency is Everything
As a designer, there is a very large
difference between sending files and files of images to a client and just
simply sending them a simple link. InVision’s presentation is impeccable where the
prototype is interactive as well as giving the user an option to comment and
toy around with it like it is a real website. It also allows the user to share
the link with others and live chat through a microphone similar to a Skype call
about each point in the prototype. With commenting and note-taking, the user is
able to set a point on the screen that they would like to give feedback on,
allowing others to chime in on the conversation. This means that all the
progress from start to finish can happen inside of InVision.
InVision combines a rich interactivity and
high user engagement through desktop from hotspots to commenting and also
provides platform independence, ubiquitous access and highly active
collaboration where users are able to edit and comment from any Internet
connected computer. (O'Rielly, 2005)
Control Your Designs
How to Use InVision in a Three Minutes
InVision is so simple and easy to use, they
definitely put usability and simplicity first. InVision comes up with thousands
and thousands of unique ways to make a designer’s life easier with prototyping.
The user just literally needs drag and drop designs into the prototyping tool
and add hotspots to transform static screens into clickable and interactive prototypes
available to share. (InVision, n.d.) InVision releases new features frequently where the latest
technologies and techniques are implemented in this prototyping tool. Even in
my brief time of using InVision, the team has added so many useful features to
simplify your prototyping stage. You can check them out here
InVision is so fully packed with so many
amazing interactive features with the combination of desktop and online
experiences as well as simplicity throughout the design and usability.

Very nice and descriptive, but it should be linked a little to O'Reilly's patterns or best practices. Like, is it low cost or does it manage data using algorithms?
ReplyDeleteI really like this app, its very easy to use and can save a lot of time!
